For the past 25+ years I have been a professional marketing writer and journalist. I’m an NYU grad with a BA in Journalism and an MA in English Literature.

My approach

Interactive

I believe the most effective way to brainstorm essay topics with a high school student is to ask the right questions. We talk, generate ideas, and identify the interesting bits. I don’t assign busywork like worksheets, lists, dream journals, or mood boards.

Iterative

Colleges want authenticity and personality. To make sure we deliver, I encourage students to begin with a rough draft that gets to the heart of the matter. Then, we identify what is important and choose a structure. From there, we add details, refine, and polish.

  • Selecting a college essay coach is a big deal. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so that we can discuss your needs and my process before you make any commitments.

  • Package 1: $5000
    Planning + Common App + 5 supplementals (or 4 + UC app)

    Package 2: $6000
    Planning + Common App + 10 supplementals (or 9 + UC app)

    Packages include:

    • College list-building

    • Admissions stats, strategy

    • Personal statement

    • Supplemental essays

    • Activities list, brag sheets

    • Unlimited support, reviews, editing

  • It depends on your student and the number of applications. Most colleges require at least one supplemental essay in addition to the personal statement. I suggest students try to get as much as possible done over the summer.
